MONACO, July 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Yacht Club de Monaco is expanding the global reach of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge with the launch of a new international qualification programme: the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge World Series. “We started the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge more than 10 years ago and, with the growing success of the event and the increasing number of participating teams, we are now expanding our reach. That’s why we want to introduce a qualification system, similar to what exists in other sports. The first preliminary qualifying events will take place in Australia and Italy, before bringing the selected teams together for the final here in Monaco,” said Bernard d’Alessandri General Secretary and Managing Director of the Yacht Club de Monaco.
Designed to support the development of the Energy Class while accommodating the growing number of university teams seeking to participate, the initiative aims to preserve the sporting and technical standards of the final competition in Monaco.
