MariaDB and Angel Pond Holdings Complete Merger

MariaDB, a new generation cloud database company, today announced completion of its business combination with Angel Pond Holdings.

Angel Pond in a Dec. 12 regulatory filing had disclosed that 99% of its shares were redeemed in connection with the deal vote, leaving about $2.3 million in trust. However, the SPAC brought about $122.2 in funding to the table — more than enough to cover the $100 million minimum cash threshold to close.

The deal was valued at $672 million at announcement in February.
